Walden Korea Signs Cultural Partnership Agreement with Remainers
Agreement to expand Korean cuisine and cultural education initiatives in the United States, signed July 24, 2022
Walden Korea signed a business agreement with Remainers, a Korea-based company focused on Korean culture, on July 24, 2022. Remainers is led by Lim Sung-hee, a master of traditional soybean paste and red pepper paste; Lee Hyun-kyung, a master of natural dyeing; and Yoon Kyung-ja, a developer.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will share culinary techniques and cultural knowledge grounded in the spirit of Hongik. Walden Korea noted that a Korean cuisine partner is essential because the Korean Wave has grown significantly in the United States, and Korean food is increasingly central to global interest in Korea. Walden Korea also emphasized that cuisine can serve as an accessible entry point through which American audiences connect more deeply with Korean history and culture. Suyeon Yang, Chairwoman of Walden Korea, is a Korean cuisine specialist who studied traditional Korean court cuisine.
Remainers will introduce its gochujang and doenjang kit to the U.S. market and will collaborate with Walden Korea on related cultural programming, including international exchange activities, certificate courses, educational recipes, events, and consulting.
